Hacking CISCO Router
Before you start:
- What is an IP address?
- What is an ISP?
- What is a TCP/IP packet?
- How to spoof your IP
- How to use Telnet
- How to use HyperTerminal
- How to use Ping
- How to use TraceRoute
- How to use a proxy server
Section 2: finding a cisco router
Finding a cisco router is a fairly easy task, almost every ISP will route through at least one cisco router. The
easiest way to find a cisco router is to run a traceroute from dos (type "tracert" and then the IP address of
anyone's computer), you can trace pretty much anyone because the trace will show all of the computer systems between your computer and their computer. One of these systems will probably have the name "cisco" in it's name. If you find one like this, copy down it's IP address.
Now you have the location of a cisco router, but it may have a firewall protecting it, so you should see if it's
being blocked by pinging it a couple times, if you get the ping returned to you, it might not be blocked. Another way is to try to access some of the cisco router's ports, you can do this simply by using telnet, and opening a connection to the router on port 23.. If it asks for a password, but no username, you are at the router, but if it wants a username aswell, you are probably at a firewall.

Harmless Hacking for dummies
The six Guides to (mostly) Harmless Hacking of Vol. 1 jumped immediately into
how-to hacking tricks. But if you are like me, all those details of probing ports
and playing with hypotheses and pinging down hosts gets a little dizzying.
So how about catching our breath, standing back and reviewing what the heck it
is that we are playing with? Once we get the basics under control, we then can
move on to serious hacking.
Also, I have been wrestling with my conscience over whether to start giving you
step-by-step instructions on how to gain root access to other peoples’ computers.
The little angel on my right shoulder whispers, “Gaining root without permission
on other people’s computers is not nice. So don’t tell people how to do it.” The
little devil on my left shoulder says, “Carolyn, all these hackers think you don’t
know nothin’! PROOVE to them you know how to crack!” The little angel says,
“If anyone reading Guide to (mostly) Harmless Hacking tries out this trick, you
might get in trouble with the law for conspiracy to damage other peoples’
computers.” The little devil says, “But, Carolyn, tell people how to crack into root
and they will think you are KEWL!”

Hacking for dummies Part 2
I'm going to refer to every kind of computer as a box, and only as a box.
This includes your PC, any server, supercomputers, nuclear silos, HAL9000,
Michael Knight's car, The Matrix, etc.
The systems we're going to hack (with permission) are plenty of normal users, whose
don't have any remote idea about security, and the root. The root user is called
superuser and is used by the admin to administer the system.
I'm going to refer to the users of a system as lusers. Logically, I'll refer to
the admin as superluser.

HACKING IIS Server
Alright so you all wanna know how to break into IIS web servers? First off,
you should find a cgi-scanner so that things will get easier. My personnel
preferences are
"whisker" by "rain forest puppy" (www.wiretrip.net/rfp).
"cis" by "mnemonix" (www.cerberus-infosec.co.uk)
To understand which server is running on the victim site
telnet <victim> 80
GET HEAD / HTTP/1.0
and there you go with the name and the version of the web server. However
some sites might run their web servers over 8080, 81, 8000, 8001, and so on.
To understand SSL web servers, which provides encryption between the web
server and the browser we use the tool "ssleay"
s_client -connect <victim>:443
HEAD / HTTP /1.0
and here we go again.
