Evernote Users Lash Out Following ‘Disturbing’ Hack

American note-taking software company Evernote has announced ‘disturbing’ news that it has been hacked. The company has become the latest high-profile victim of a cyber attack and as a ‘precaution’, has implemented a password reset for all users. After ‘suspicious activity’, in which the hacker(s) were able to gain access to Evernote user information, including usernames, email addresses associated with Evernote accounts and encrypted passwords, an estimated 50 million people were forced to reset their passwords. Angry Users Despite the notice on its website, plenty of irate users took to the company’s site to air their frustration, as many felt they should have been emailed about the compulsory password change. One user said it was ‘inexcusable’ that no email was sent to users and another said the unexplained password reset actually prompted hacking fears. A user nicknamed b737officeview, said: “This is really disturbing. Facebook Not for Users Over 100 Years Old

A new glitch has been uncovered in the social networking website Facebook which is causing problems in particular for one user. Marguerite Joseph is a resident of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and has been using Facebook for the past three years. Joseph was born in 1908 which makes her 104 years old at present. It is unlikely that the website has any other user with an age in the triple-digits. However, Facebook is preventing Joseph from showing her true age on her profile. Joseph has stated that she wants to let the people know her real age but when she enters the year as 1908, it automatically changes to 1928. It does seem as though Facebook designers thought the website wouldn’t be used by someone over a hundred years old but that has occurred now. Due to this technical problem, Joseph’s age on the website is shown as 99 and has been that way since 2010. Now that this issue has been brought to light, maybe Facebook would find a solution. Hackers target Yahoo users in Singapore: SingCert

Yahoo users in Singapore have been warned about spam e-mail that could leave them vulnerable to attacks by hackers.

A government information watchdog has advised them not to click on the links in these messages - even those that are supposedly sent by friends.

The warning was issued last Friday in a bulletin on the website of the Singapore Computer Emergency Response Team (SingCert). It said that there have been reports of spam e-mail from Yahoo accounts containing links to sites selling "work-from-home" schemes and packages.

Outlook.com hits 60 million users, drops preview tag

Microsoft's Outlook.com email service has been a massive hit for the company since its unveiling in July. Offering a much improved user interface, Outlook.com is Microsoft's premier email service and the company has announced that site now has 60 million active users.

In a phone conversation with David Law of Microsoft, he touted that they like to think of it as 0-60 million users in just over six months, cute. But on an honest note, the growth is incredible and Microsoft says that Outlook.com is the fastest growing email service on the market at this time.
